This is the personal website of Greg Mullinax and the title of this site is not meant to mislead. "A Singular Journey" does not mean a journey by oneself. Any life lived, no matter how brief or long, I consider to be a journey with, for and because of others.  No matter how we may feel at certain times,  our lives are never lived in isolation.

My intention is that "A Singular Journey"  means a unique and original journey unlike anyone else's. I hope this site exposes a part of my own singular journey and perhaps inspires, no let's say, triggers awareness and reflection in others of their own personal experience, thoughts and emotion.

The tagline "life is short and the world is wide" is from a quote from Simon Raven an English writer and intellectual.  I think the term "wide" restricts our thinking a little bit. The world is not just wide, and therefore not narrow.  It is much more expansive and so at first, I used the word "large." I think we all need to think "large" in purpose and possibility, but I decided to respect the original quote.

With this site I also hope to share some of my creativity and appreciation of artists with real talent and those who are brave enough to nurture, develop, and share their wonderful creative talents.  I completed the Artist's Way Workshop a while back and highly recommend it for those who are struggling to develop their creative self or even working artists trying to improve their game.

For my part, I am an art omnivore. I love a wide range of different artistic expression. I am indiscriminate when it comes to art mediums. I'm open to just about any medium: watercolors, acrylics, oils, colored pens and markers including Copic pens. Recently, I am exploring encaustic (melted wax) painting and even combining this with my love of collage. I can't draw very well, but I can glue like Leonardo Da Vinci could paint!  I love all kinds of paper things like stamps, old advertisements, maps and matchbook covers. It is officially called "ephemera." I am fascinated by these scraps of paper that represent another time.  So don't throw that old piece of paper away. That unused napkin is waiting to be featured in some work of genius and inspiration. Watch for lots of this old paper. I think it will charm you as well.

You will notice that i enjoy taking photos and you will see a lot here. In fact this website template was chosen to show my photos and posts in an "any device friendly" format. I hope you enjoy them as much I enjoy taking them.
